Tests
You have a twisted soul! Twisted Souls are never
bad, and actually, are a rarity amongst souls.
These souls are a little combination of
everything, with always a little of their own
chaos to add. Twisted Souls are kind, loving,
weird, zany, temperamental, and very talented.
They have their own firm opinion, and can at
one time be very outspoken and passionate, and
the other time shy and feeling insignificant.
Twisted Souls have good senses of Humor and
other times can be a bore. You can act quite
intelligent at one time, and grasp concepts
easily, while other times they can find it
difficult to understand. Twisted Souls are
always very fun and Kind, and can be party
animals. But, if you love someone, youre
serious about it, intense, and forever loyal.
Congratulations-the world should have more like
you.

~Sloth~

You are Sloth!
Lazy huh ?? You're a bit slow in getting going -
and tend not to do anything unless it is
absolutely necessary. You'd rather sit around,
watch TV/Sleep then go out and about with
friends, or take part in a sporting event. On
the positive side, you tend to be quite smart,
as you spend a lot of time watching the News
(!!) or on the computer, Also by conserving
your energy, it's right there waiting for you
when it's vitally important to get going.
Consider possibly moving out of the room once in a
while - and perhaps once a week trade watching
TV for half an hour with a walk - and you'll be
back on track.
However, Congratulations on being the most
intelligent of the 7 deadly sins...

The Arts House~~ and Job Interviews
Went for this Event held at The Arts House as Karen's got 4 free tic. (Thanks! ;o))
About the Event
Be thrilled by five talented flamenco musicians in the intimacy of the Chambers. Let Jesus Torre(guitar), Sudhi Rajagopal (percussion), Pablo Suarez (piano), Jose Luis Lopez (cello) and Manuel Gogo (singer) bring you the best of flamenco music and flamenco jazz.
"Camerata Flamenco Project" will perform at the Chamber at the Arts House on 11th June 2004 at 10pm. Tickets at S$20/-.
heh heh~~ yup yup it was really enjoyable! love the person playin the cello most.he played really well. the people who played the various instruments were great too but umm~~ the singer ah~~ eh~~ he sang in spanish lah dan a bit difficult to appreciate. hahaha but towards the end in the last song, it was much much better. well at least he stopped screamin. oops~~
Interview @ Quantum on Fri
Yup yup went for the 2nd interview at 4:30pm today. Got abt 7 people includin myself at the new start-up company. It dragged until 6:47pm as I managed to get to the 3 round of interview.
FYI 1: What I'll be doin is kinda like a sales job as in get people to sign up with PacificNet. Before I'm allowed to be a trainer -> dunno what -> dunno what -> project executive (for other companies)->manager
FYI 2: It'll be a performance based thingy so the more ppl u get to sign up the more pay you'll get. It's a direct mktg thingy.
4:30pm: Together with another guy who had graduated from NUS (e poor guy was kinda late for the interview, luckily it has not started and he was sweatin so much his shirt was all wet~~), we had a briefin session with our assigned trainer (Fang Ying)at this coffee shop.
When we were back at the office, Fang Ying had a feedback session with the person-in-charge (Joe). And was rather surprised when was informed tt i got into the 3rd interview.
Was asked quite a few questions durin this time e.g. what do you see yourself doin in 5 years' time etc. Told Joe tt my first love is still logistics-related industry and I'm waiting for a reply from Nedlloyd. Reply should cum within 1-2 weeks time and he was kind enough to put me on phobation for 2 weeks' till I get my reply. Will be paid durin my training sessions at Quantum but how much I dunno. But he said it'll be a weekly pay thingy.Dunno lah. See how first.
FYI 3: Initially I found the company fishy. I still do. Am I thinking too much?
FYI 4: Really hate the idea of running around to do sales. Need lots of motivation. But for the experience, I guess it's worth it?
FYI 5: Kinda aiming for the Air Force job also~~ hahaha. Hey, it's logistics-related kay! Supposed to ensure the availability of aircraft spare parts. Love dealin with inventory levels. Hope can get called up for interview asap. High pay high pay ($1864)!!! If confirmed after 5 mths it's $2,020. One of my source of motivation! hahaha
Interview @ P&O Nedlloyd on Thurs
Interview went rather well. Found the interviwers easy to talk too. Seems like there are many people applyin for the job too. Dunno leh~~~ Dilemma~~
Some of the questions asked:
What do you know of our company? (told them tt it's a container shipping company and they recently merged with another company)
FYI 5: Yup, they did merge but it was in 1997 P&O(English company) merged with Nedlloyd(Dutch company) so they call themselves P&O Nedlloyd. Interviewer 1 said, "So yeah, it was not very recently" (imagine my paiseh-ness hahaha but still they were nice enough to explain)
What will you do if a customer calls you up to complain?
What's your take/impression of the logistics industry?
Are you applyin for any other job?
How would you describe yourself?
Are you willing to work OT?
Do you have any questions to ask us? (which i replied "No" damn should have asked got OT pay~~ hahaha, what are the career prospects)
Do you intend to further your studies in this field?
What kind of environment do you like to work in?
Are you comfortable to make your own decisions at times?
Do you like to do face-to-face interactions/ would you rather do back-end support? (To which they said no right no wrong but just in-case if there are vacancies within the company, the HR side will take note and contact me if they found a job suitable for my personality. Shit~ Doesn't seem too hopeful huh?)
Well~~ what the heck.

Wemmicks People
Got this from an email:
> A rather enlightenin story...hope u like it..
> >Wemmicks People
> >
> >The Wemmicks were small wooden people. Each of the wooden people was carved by a woodworker named Eli. His workshop sat on a hill overlooking their village.
> >
> >Every Wemmick was different. Some had big noses, others had large eyes. Some were tall and others were short. Some wore hats, others wore coats. But all were made by the same carver and all lived in the village.
> >And all day, every day, the Wemmicks did the same thing: They gave each other stickers. Each Wemmick had a box of golden star stickers and a box of gray dot stickers. Up and down the streets all over the city, people could be seen sticking stars or dots on one
> >another.
> >
> >The pretty ones, those with smooth wood and fine paint, always got stars. But if the wood was rough or the paint chipped, the Wemmicks gave dots. The talented ones got stars, too. Some could lift big sticks high above their heads or jump over tall boxes. Still others knew big words or could sing very pretty songs. Everyone gave them stars.
> >
> >Some Wemmicks had stars all over them! Every time they got a star it made them feel so good that they did something else and got another star.
> >
> >Others, though, could do little. They got dots. Punchinello was one of these. He tried to jump high like the others, but he always fell. And when he fell, the others would gather around and give him dots. Sometimes when he fell, it would scar his wood, so the people would give him more dots.
> >
> >He would try to explain why he fell and say something silly, and the Wemmicks would give him more dots. After a while he had so many dots that he didn't want to go outside. He was afriad he would do something dumb such as forget his hat or step in the water, and then people would give him another dot.
> >
> >In fact, he had so many gray dots that some people would come up and give him one without reason. "He deserves lots of dots," the wooden people would agree with one another. "He's not a good wooden person." After a while Punchinello believed them. "I'm not a good wemmick," he would say. The few times he went outside, he hung around other Wemmicks who had a lot of dots. He felt better around them.
> >
> >One day he met a Wemmick who was unlike any he'd ever met. She had no dots or stars. She was just wooden. Her name was Lucia. It wasn't that people didn't try to give her stickers; it's just that the stickers didn't stick. Some admired Lucia for having no dots, so they would run up and give her a star. But it would fall off. Some would look down on her for having no stars, so they would give her a dot. But it wouldn't stay either.
> >
> >'That's the way I want to be, thought Punchinello. 'I don't want anyone's marks.' So he asked the stickerless Wemmick how she did it.
> >
> >"It's easy," Lucia replied. "every day I go see Eli."
> >
> >"Eli?"
> >
> >"Yes, Eli. The woodcarver. I sit in the workshop with him."
> >
> >"Why?"
> >
> >"Why don't you find out for yourself? Go up the hill. He's there." And with that the Wemmick with no marks turned and skipped away.
> >
> >"But he won't want to see me!" Punchinello cried out. Lucia didn't hear. So Punchinello went home. He sat near a window and watched the wooden people as they scurried around giving each other stars and dots.
> >
> >"It's not right," he muttered to himself. And he resolved to go see Eli. He walked up the narrow path to the top of the hill and stepped into the big shop. His wooden eyes widened at the size of everything. The stool was as tall as he was. He had to stretch on his tiptoes to see the top of the workbench. A hammer was as long as his arm. Punchinello swallowed hard. "I'm not staying here!" and he turned to leave.
> >
> >Then he heard his name.
> >
> >"Punchinello?" The voice was deep and strong.
> >
> >Punchinello stopped.
> >
> >"Punchinello! How good to see you. Come and let me have a look at you."
> >
> >Punchinello turned slowly and looked at the large bearded craftsman. "You know my name?" the little Wemmick asked.
> >
> >"Of course I do. I made you."
> >
> >Eli stooped down and picked him up and set him on the bench.
> >
> >"Hmm," the maker spoke thoughtfully as he inspected the gray circles. "Looks like you've been given some bad marks."
> >
> >"I didn't mean to, Eli. I really tried hard."
> >
> >"Oh, you don't have to defend yourself to me, child. I don't care what the other Wemmicks think."
> >
> >"You don't?"
> >
> >"No, and you shouldn't either. Who are they to give stars or dots? They're Wemmicks just like you. What they think doesn't matter, Punchinello. All that matters is what I think. And I think you are pretty special."
> >
> >Punchinello laughed. "Me, special? Why? I can't walk fast. I can't jump. My paint is peeling. Why do I matter to you?"
> >
> >Eli looked at Punchinello, put his hands on those small wooden shoulders, and spoke very slowly. "Because you're mine. That's why
> >you matter to me."
> >
> >Punchinello had never had anyone look at him like this--much less his maker. He didn't know what to say.
> >
> >"Every day I've been hoping you'd come," Eli explained.
> >
> >"I came because I met someone who had no marks."
> >
> >"I know. She told me about you."
> >
> >"Why don't the stickers stay on her?"
> >
> >"Because she has decided that what I think is more important than what they think. The stickers only stick if you let them."
> >
> >"What?"
> >
> >"The stickers only stick if they matter to you. The more you trust my love, the less you care about the stickers."
> >
> >"I'm not sure I understand."
> >
> >"You will, but it will take time. You've got a lot of marks. For now, just come to see me every day and let me remind you how much I care."
> >
> >Eli lifted Punchinello off the bench and set him on the ground.
> >
> >"Remember," Eli said as the Wemmick walked out the door. "You are special because I made you. And I don't make mistakes."
> >
> >Punchinello didn't stop, but in his heart he thought, "I think he really means it."
> >
> >And when he did, a dot fell to the ground.

> >
> >
> >
> >
> >
> >
> >
> >
> >
> >
> >
> >
> >
> >"Why?"
