Apple Tree

A long time ago, there was a huge apple tree.
A little boy loved to come and play around it everyday.

He climbed to the tree top, ate the apples, took a nap under the shadow... He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him.
Time went by...

The little boy had grown up and he no longer played around the tree everyday. One day, the boy came back to the tree and he looked sad.

"Come and play with me," the tree asked the boy.
"I am no longer a kid, I don't play around trees anymore."
The boy replied, "I want toys. I need money to buy them."
"Sorry... but I don't have any money... but you can pick all my apples and sell them. Then you will have money."

The boy was excited. He grabbed all the apples on the tree and left happily. The boy never came back after he picked the apples.

The tree was sad. One day, the boy returned and the tree was so excited.

"Come and play with me," the tree said.
"But I don't have time to play. I have to work for my family. We need a house for shelter. Can you help me?"
"Sorry but I don't have a house. But you can chop off my branches to build your house."

So the boy cut all the branches of the tree and left happily.
The tree was glad to see him happy but the boy never came back since then. The tree was again lonely and sad.
One hot summer day, the boy returned and the tree was glad.

"Come and play with me!" the tree said.
"I am sad and getting old. I want to go sailing and relax by myself. Can you give me a boat?"
"Use my trunk to build your boat. You can sail far away and be happy."

So the boy cut the tree trunk to make a boat. He went sailing and never showed up for a long time.

Finally the boy returned after being away for so many years.

"Sorry my boy, but I don't have anything for you anymore. No more apples for you... " The tree said.
"I don't have teeth to bite." the boy replied.
"No more trunk for you to climb on..."
"I'm too old for that now." the boy said.
"I really can't give you anything... the only thing left is my dying roots." the tree said with tears.
"I don't need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all these years." The boy replied.
"Good! Old tree roots are the best places to lean on and rest. Come, sit down with me and rest."
The boy sat down next to the tree. It was glad and smiled with tears.

This is a story for everyone. The tree represents our parents.
When we were young, we loved to play with Mom and Dad.
When we grew up, we left them and only returned when we needed something or when we were in trouble.
No matter what, our parents would always be there to give everything to make us happy.
You might think that the boy had been cruel to the tree BUT that is how all of us are treating our parents.

Please enlighten your friends by forwarding this mail to them, and love your parents.

Hope it means something to you!

Email

Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy....... So the apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree.

(Share this with other women who are good apples, even those who have already been picked!)

And... Men are like a fine wine. They start out as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp on them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.

I'm Tired

I'm tired. My head was throbbing and I still feel rather unhappy and uneasy abt turnin down the job offer. I felt like I let them down. Did I?

Today Serene asked if I'm goin for the briefin. Yes. I am. I asked her to go too coz I believe if we dun go, we'll regret it. Will you, Serene? Was it worth it when I turned down the job offer? I dunno...I need support for the decision. But I'm not convinced myself.

SNAP OUT OF IT! *Smack Smack*

10:27pm:

Got this sms from a fren while editin this post.

"next time you are upset, remember it's not so much people who make you angry, as your thoughts about them. whatever thoughts are causin you pain, they are only thoughts. You can change a thought. happiness is a daily decision."

Tots

Blogging

Hey, does it ever happen to you? your day might have been an eventful one. but when you want to really get down to bloggin, nothing comes out? either that or you just write something brief?it seems tt everything tt happened on tt day was just a fleetin moment, not worth mentionin?

Does it happen to you too or is it only me?

What is the point of bloggin anyway?

Thanks

Anyway, tks mei for offerin to treat me for the show! I appreciate it! :o)

Job

I shld be startin work soon. The stupid Air Force(AF)! Just when I verbally promised Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) tt I'll be with them for 1 year, AF sent mail informin me to go for a briefin and interview on the 15th (thur) at 8:30am! S*** lah... Think I'll be startin work at HMM on tue or wes how to go for the interview? (-_-") but zhi was tellin me tt air force got bond and stuff and if you dun like the job, you cannot quit and dun ever think of promotion coz very difficult to get it and serene was sayin tt the job there is very mundane. Buttt~~ the pay there is damn high lor~~ startin is $1864 and after confirmation of 5 mths, it'll increase to $2020. Aaaarrgh!!! Whereas at HMM the pay is damn low. Below mkt price of $1,400. Period.

Tell me what to do?!?! But even if I turn down e HMM job, it does not mean tt I'll be selected for the Air Force job~~ so yeah, there's a loop hole there. Bao once said tt there'll alwayz be better stuff out there in the mkt. But if you yourself cannot make up your mind and alwayz wait in hope for better stuff, you'll end up "liang tuo duo bu dao an".

Worry

Worry strips away the joys of today. It reaches into the unforeseeable future and takes out a loan on trouble - trouble that may or may not occur. An old proverb goes - "He who fears what he may suffer, already suffers what he fears."

Drivin

Yay! Drivin's fun fun FUN! heh heh~~ had my first lesson today. Had a nice instructor to teach me so I guess tt's y it was fun! :o) he was very patient w me. hopefully the consecutive ones will be nice or remain the same as him! ;oP

The next drivin lesson is in 1 and a half weeks time. The instructor was sayin tt I'm bound to forget what I've learnt... Damn~~ thinkin of drivin my father's van to make sure I dun turn rusty... hee...

For the record I went for a grand total of 7 interviews. If include the agents meeting dan it'll be 9 interviews in total.

Startin to get tired of going for interviews. Heard from Mousy tt workin in e 3PL environment is very stressful. Every time work OT... even they pay is not enticin enough~~ well~~ me still lookin for work, so cannot comment much. But I got faith in Mousy's work ability! Jia you kay! Behind ya all the way!

Who wanna watch The Women In Black with me?!?! I wanna watch but ex leh... (-_-") $41 dollars. It's a scary play. Held at the Singapore Repertory Theatre. It'll be fun for those who enjoy a good scare. ;oD

Today was rushin to my 2nd interview when I saw this old man he tripped in his step while on the escalator and could not get back on his feet. Luckily the escalator was stopped by this person... *phew*
